MYX MAGAZINE 3RD ISSUE...out now!!!

Executive Editor's Note:
2006 was an awesome year for MYX! One of my most unforgettable experiences was—MYX Mo! 2006, probably one of the most well-attended music events in Phlippine history.
MYX Mo! usually draws a varied group of concert-goers. Sure, there was the expected troop of guys in their black t-shirts (whom I believe are quite misunderstood) but there were just as many teenyboppers and even young kids who came from all over the metropolis and even from nearby provinces! To begin with, MYX Mo! was never and is not a rock concert per se. MYX Mo! is a concert that features all types of music from pop, acoustic, ballads, bossa nova, rock, hip-hop, r & b, etc.
Around 6:00 p.m., the crowd was really getting into it and the venue was fast getting filled. The energy escalated when Sandwich opened the Main Show together with the UST Yellow Jackets and UST Salinggawi Dancers. By this time, the audience had swelled to 60,000 plus and there were thousands more outside. I went onstage with the MYX VJs and welcomed everyone into the Main Show. Kamikazee then performed while Iya was shaving my head onstage.
While Imago was singing “Anino”, I was advised that the crowd outside was getting bigger and bigger - trying to get into the venue. We had to stop Imago’s set to talk to the audience and address the situation. There was no trouble with the people inside the venue, but it was the unruly crowd outside that was posing to be a problem.
We were informed that some criminally minded people started cutting the fences, this was the point when we decided to stop the concert. These individuals were not MYX Mo! concertgoers, they were people who came to the venue complete with bolt cutters. We are happy that the Pasay City authorities caught them and that nothing bad happened. But with that kind of security breach it would be difficult to continue the concert with more and more people still flocking to the CCP Open Grounds. With a heavy heart, I told the audience that we would no longer proceed. The public’s safety was our utmost priority and I knew we made the right decision.
So, for the nth time—no one was seriously hurt in MYX Mo! 2006. No one died in MYX Mo! 2006. There are certain individuals (I heard that there are some bands also) who continue to spread rumors and gossip that MYX had to stop the concert because someone died. I don’t know if they are just misinformed or downright malicious. We specifically decided to discontinue the show to prevent any untoward incident from happening.
To pick up where we left off, we produced Merry MYX Mo! on December 17. This was the first time that MYX did a 6 hour concert live on TV! We even had Apl D Ap of the Black Eyed Peas as a special guest! What a way to end our year! We thank all of you for your continued support.
